Westcotes Beat – Weekly Update Dear residents, Here is this week’s update from the Westcotes Neighbourhood Policing Team. It’s been a busy one across the beat, with a mix of proactive policing, safeguarding work, and community engagement. Drug Activity & Safeguarding Work Throughout the week officers have continued to act on intelligence relating to drug activity across the beat. We have also carried out a number of safeguarding visits to vulnerable children who may be at risk of exploitation, ensuring appropriate support is in place. Court Result – Local Burglar Officers attended court this week for a burglary case linked to our area. The offender has now been sentenced to a period of imprisonment, which is a positive outcome for our community and a reassurance that such offences are taken seriously. Knife Arch Deployment A knife arch was deployed as part of our continuing work to tackle knife crime. Members of the public were supportive of the operation, and we will continue to run similar initiatives to maintain safety and deter weapon possession. Shoplifter Arrested A shoplifter was arrested this week, with over £200 worth of stolen goods successfully recovered. We continue to work closely with local retailers to identify offenders and prevent repeat incidents. Parking Enforcement Parking on pavements remains a frequent issue. This week officers issued three tickets to vehicles causing obstruction, with several more drivers given advice. We will continue monitoring known problem areas. Beat Surgeries & Engagement We held our regular beat surgeries in partnership with local stores and community groups. These sessions are a great opportunity for residents to chat with us, raise issues, and receive crime prevention advice. Thank you to everyone who stopped to speak with us. Foot Patrols (Even in the Freezing Weather!) Despite the cold temperatures 🥶, officers have remained out on foot patrol, continuing to provide reassurance and visibility across the beat. A bit chilly for us… but worth it! 😂 PCSOs Supporting at the Front Enquiry Office (FEO) Our PCSOs have also been assisting colleagues in the Front Enquiry Office, helping to manage public enquiries, take reports, and support the smooth running of the station’s front-facing services.
If you have any concerns or information, please feel free to contact the team. Thank you for your ongoing support. Westcotes Neighbourhood Policing Team |
